Zaumeyer on the basis of his 25 years of economic consulting services practice as a Partner in large public accounting firms where he had national as well as international responsibility for supplying economic consulting services and litigation support to clients across a wide range of industries. The Forensic Economist Group is a full service economic consulting firm with a boutique, client-centered culture.
We provide economic consulting services to law firms of all sizes, insurance companies, General Councils of major corporations, municipal attorneys, and the courts. We handle economic damage issues raised in claims for wage and benefit losses in personal injury, wrongful death, and employment discrimination cases as well as in claims for property damage, lost profits, lost royalties, loss of reputation, and in claims for the loss of business or other asset value.
Our team of nationally recognized PhD educated economists, financial analysts, and researchers, supported by a deep network of outside experts, provides economic loss assessment and report preparation at the highest level of analytic excellence. We use a collaborative approach to the resolution of economic damage and loss claims, providing our clients with credible outcomes within both legal evidentiary guidelines and economic principles and practices.
Dr. David J. Zaumeyer, Founder, Principal Economist and Managing Director of the Forensic Economist Group, maintains the Group’s client relationships, and oversees activities related to research, economic consulting, statistical analysis, and financial modeling. He offers expert support to attorneys needing to develop direct and cross examination strategy and provides expert witness services as needed.
Dr. Zaumeyer’s professional experience includes partnerships in several national and international public accounting firms, as Director of practice in the areas of economic consulting, damage calculations, forensic accounting studies, and expert witnessing. He has deep knowledge and experience in all areas of economic and financial analysis, as well as accounting and auditing, and has testified as an expert on these topics in both federal and state courts. Dr. Zaumeyer has international arbitration experience as a consultant to the Secretariat of the United Nations, assisting in the evaluation of damage claims arising out of the Gulf War. He has also qualified as an expert witness in the London Court of International Arbitration. Dr. Zaumeyer is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Forensic Economics. He is Professor Emeritus of Accounting and Information Systems at Rutgers University School of Business.
Dr. Zaumeyer holds a PhD from Columbia University, an MBA from New York University, and a BS in economics from Fordham University. He is a CPA, licensed in both New York and New Jersey, and has worked as a forensic economist and accountant for over 30 years. He also holds a Certificate in Financial Forensics (CFF).
Ms. Berry, a Senior Associate with the Forensic Economist Group, oversees the evolution and development of the Group’s proprietary modeling tools and conducts analyses to estimate economic damages in personal injury and wrongful death cases, including past and future income and benefit losses, future medical expenses, and other elements of damage sustained by an injured party, as well as the projection of life care plan costs. Ms. Berry advises other members of the Group on labor issues, accounting practices, and union and pension rules. She also supervises our documents management staff as well as the maintenance of our extensive library.
Ms. Berry has over 15 years of experience in accounting, tax, and financial analysis consulting. Prior to joining the Forensic Economist Group, Ms. Berry provided audit and accounting services for a CPA firm in New York City.
Dr. Kristine Kelly, a Senior Economist with the Forensic Economist Group, supports the development of the Group’s proprietary modeling tools and provides economic consulting and statistical analysis support in the estimation of economic losses. She is a qualified expert witness in the areas of applied economics and financial modeling.
Dr. Kelly is an Associate Professor teaching economics and business research at the Curtis L. Gerrish School of Business at Endicott College. She has decades of experience developing simulation models within and across economic, healthcare, and financial systems as a research scientist and research manager in New York State agencies, as an engagement manager with McKinsey and Company, and in the context of economic development projects in Africa and Latin America.
Dr. Kelly holds a PhD in Information Science and Policy from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the University at Albany, an MBA from the University of Albany, and an undergraduate degree in Economics.
Dr. Aaron Pacitti, a Senior Economist with the Forensic Economist Group, supports the Group’s economic consulting and research activities and is a qualified expert witness in the area of labor economics.
Dr. Pacitti is a Professor of Economics at Siena College. From 2016 to 2018, he held the Douglas T. Hickey Chair in Business and has been awarded Siena College’s School of Business excellence in research, teaching, and service awards.
Dr. Pacitti is published in academic journals and his research in empirical macroeconomics and labor economics has been used by the Congressional Budget Office and the International Monetary Fund; and featured in the Wall St. Journal, the Washington Post, the Harvard Business Review, the Baltimore Sun, U.S. News and World Report, CNBC, MSN Money, Yahoo Finance, and the Huffington Post. Aaron is also a regular panelist on WAMC 90.3 Northeast Public Radio’s current events Round Table and Vox Pop programs. He is a member of the American Economic Association, Eastern Economic Association, and Labor and Employment Relations Association, and the National Association of Forensic Economics.
Dr. Pacitti holds a PhD in economics from American University and a BA in economics from Case Western Reserve University.
